Artisan Agreement (The Artisan’s Covenant)

Effective Date: September 5, 2026

Welcome, Artisan. By opening a shop within The Broom Squires Marketplace, you join a dedicated guild committed to preserving the historic craft of broom making. This Artisan Agreement outlines the standards, fees, and rules required to maintain a shop in Broom Corners.
By registering as an Artisan, you agree to these terms in addition to our general Terms of Service.

1. Eligibility & Authenticity Standards
The Broom Squires Marketplace is a curated, hyper-niche destination. We champion handmade, heirloom-quality goods over mass-produced utility.

Handmade & Authentic: All brooms, tools, and accessories sold must be handmade by you, your small team, or be authentic vintage/antique items relevant to the craft.

Raw Materials: Suppliers may sell raw materials (broomcorn, natural dyes, wooden handles, twine), provided they are accurately described.

Prohibited Items: We strictly forbid the sale of mass-produced, factory-made brooms, plastic sweeping tools, or items utilizing neon/artificial aesthetics.

Quality Control: The Guild Master (Site Admin) reserves the right to remove any listing or shop that dilutes the artisan brand or fails to meet these authenticity standards.

2. Photography & Marketing Guidelines
To maintain the immersive illusion of Broom Corners, Artisans must adhere to our visual standards:
Product photography must feature warm, natural light and natural textures (e.g., aged wood, stone hearths, linen, forests).
Photos featuring modern utility closets, harsh studio lighting, or plastic backgrounds are prohibited.
We encourage action shots of your hands at work to reinforce the artisan value proposition.

3. Fees and Revenue Streams
By selling on our platform, you agree to our fee structure, which allows us to maintain the marketplace, run the blog, and drive high-intent organic traffic to your shop.

Listing Fees: A flat fee of $0.20 applies to each item listed in your shop.

Marketplace Commission: We collect a 5% commission on every successful transaction (including shipping costs) processed through your storefront.

Premium Artisan Subscription (Optional): Artisans may opt for a $15/month subscription, which includes zero listing fees, a customized storefront URL, featured placement on the homepage, and a reduced commission rate.
P

Promoted Listings (Optional): Artisans may pay additional fees to boost their products to the top of our marketplace search results.
Note: Standard payment processing fees (e.g., via Stripe or PayPal) are separate and are deducted by the payment processor.

4. Order Fulfillment & Shop Policies
As an independent artisan, you are responsible for fulfilling your own orders.

Shipping: You must clearly state your processing times and shipping costs on every listing. Orders must be shipped within the timeframe promised.

Customer Service: You are responsible for addressing Buyer inquiries, custom commission requests, and disputes in a prompt, respectful manner.

Shop Policies: You must create and display your own shop policies regarding returns, exchanges, and custom order cancellations.

5. Intellectual Property
By uploading photos, descriptions, and lore to your shop, you grant The Broom Squires Marketplace a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to use, display, and distribute this content for the purpose of promoting your shop, our blog, and the marketplace across our marketing channels (including SEO, Pinterest, and Instagram).

6. Termination of Guild Membership
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate any Artisan account that violates this Agreement, fails to fulfill orders, engages in dishonest marketing, or mistreats Buyers. You may also close your shop at any time, provided all outstanding orders are fulfilled or refunded.
