The Guild’s Returns & Refund Policy
Welcome to the mercantile at Broom Corners. At The Broom Squires Marketplace, we honor the heritage of our craft and champion the heirloom-quality goods our artisans create. We want every besom, hearth brush, and bundle of broomcorn to bring warmth and utility to your home.
Because our marketplace operates as a gathering of independent craftsmen and suppliers, our Guild has established this baseline standard to ensure a fair, honest, and seamless experience for all who visit our village.
1. Timeframe for Returns
You have 30 days from the date your order is delivered to request a return or exchange. If 30 days have passed since your delivery, we cannot offer you a refund or exchange.
2. Condition of Returned Goods
To be eligible for a return, your item must be unused, un-swept, and in the same pristine condition that you received it. It must also be in the original packaging.
A Note on Authentic Craftsmanship: Please remember that our artisans use natural, raw materials. Slight variations in the color of broomcorn, the natural curve of an ash bark handle, or the unique tension of the bind are testaments to the lore and authenticity of the craft, not product defects.
3. Bespoke & Custom Commissions (Exceptions)
Because custom items are crafted specifically for your hearth, we cannot accept returns on the following:
Custom-commissioned brooms (e.g., specific handle engravings, custom plaiting styles, or non-standard lengths).
Personalized items.
Digital downloads or educational lore (patterns, guides).
4. Damaged or Defective Goods
If a piece arrives at your door damaged from its journey, or if there is a true structural defect in the binding or materials, the Guild stands by its work. Please contact the individual artisan within 7 days of delivery with photographs of the damaged item and packaging to arrange an immediate replacement or full refund.
5. Return Shipping Costs
As we are a community of independent, small-scale artisans rather than a mass-production factory, buyers are responsible for paying the return shipping costs for standard returns or exchanges. Shipping costs are non-refundable. If the item is being returned due to a defect or damage in transit, the artisan will cover the return shipping costs.
We strongly advise using a trackable shipping service or purchasing shipping insurance when returning high-value heirloom items. We cannot guarantee that the artisan will receive your returned item.
6. How to Initiate a Return
To request a return, please follow these steps:
Contact the Squire (Seller): Log into your Broom Squires Marketplace account, navigate to your order history, and send a direct message to the artisan who crafted your item to initiate the return.
Prepare the Package: Once the artisan approves the return, securely pack the item in its original mercantile packaging to protect the bristles and handle.
Ship the Item: Send the package to the return address provided by the artisan in your direct message.
7. Refund Processing
Once your return is received and inspected by the artisan, we will send you an email notification confirming its arrival. We will also notify you of the approval or rejection of your refund based on the item’s condition.
If approved, your refund will be processed by the marketplace, and a credit will automatically be applied to your original method of payment within 5 to 7 business days.
8. Contact the Guild Master
If you are having trouble reaching an artisan, or if a dispute arises that cannot be settled between buyer and maker, the Guild Master is here to help.
